If life has become a series of going to school, getting a job, getting married, divorce, getting married again then retiring – taking stock of things so as to come the grand conclusion that there is very little time left – we have fallen ino the “normal” pattern of things. That is if we know what true “meaning” is. ” Finally, verse 10 “The days of our years are three score and ten (seventy years) – or even by reason of strength, fourscore years, yet is their pride (in additional years) only labor and sorrow, for it is gone, and we fly away.” This lament for lost years can occur at any time when we begin to assess how we may have used the time we have.Īs with Moses, we may be allowed to give away years and years of opportunity – then discover our loss perhaps change and bring true meaning to our existance. And the judges shall make careful inquiry, and indeed, if the witness is a false witness, who has testified falsely against his brother, then you shall do to him as he thought to have done to his brother so you shall put away the evil from among you. If a false witness rises against any man to testify against him of wrongdoing, then both men in the controversy shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges who serve in those days.
